An eco-adventurers dream, Ocho Rios, Jamaica is the land of rainforest, rivers, and waterfalls. The most famous waterfall on the island, if not the entire Caribbean, Dunn’s River Falls is in Ocho Rios. This 180-meter meandering waterfall complete with refreshing lagoon pools is located in a grove of virgin forest and a welcomed respite from the tropical heat. This part of the island is a nature lover’s playground. Zip-lining, hiking, exploring… are all available within 30 minutes from every Ocho Rios hotel.
The accommodations in this part of the island include luxurious waterfront private villas, adults-only all-inclusive resorts, and a few legendary hotels with incredible history. Regardless of where you stay in Ocho Rios, grabbing a cocktail at Goldeneye and some jerk from Scotchies, are two not to be missed culinary experiences. Also, we can reserve your seat at our favorite farm-to-table event hosted in the hills above Ocho Rios.
The Ocho Rios Craft Market is one of the largest on the island. When the cruise ships are in port, it can feel like an overwhelming tourist trap, but if you take our advice and visit on a quiet day, it is a great place to stock up on all things Jamaican.
