Truth + transparency in travel is our goal, so if we don’t enjoy our stay at a hotel, we won’t write about it. If you’re reading this – the hotel below was a hit! For this hotel review, we were only able to spend the day on property. Our first-hand experiences, combined with our client’s feedback, have helped us arrive at the following opinions.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS // Some of the hardest clients for us to place are families looking for a higher-end resort that will appeal just as much to Mom & Dad as it does to the kids. Grand Velas Los Cabos is one such place, and you know it from the moment you arrive. Mom & Dad are met with a champagne cart while the gets enjoy fresh juice and cool towels for all. The cumulative satisfaction of the entire family continues throughout the stay. If you’re looking for the best family resort in Cabo for spring break, winter holiday, or summer getaway, look no further.

DINING // At Grand Velas Los Cabos, you’ll find 7 gourmet restaurants and a 10-course tasting menu.

Cocina de Autor’s tasting menu is designed by their head chef – who was previously at the helm of one of Amsterdam’s finest Michelin-starred restaurants. In addition to Cocina de Autor, you’ll find:

Velas 10 – surf + turf with the finest steaks + freshest seafood – open to all ages.

Frida – contemporary Mexican that tells a story with every dish – open to all ages.

Piaf – french cuisine + fine wine – staggered dining hours for 12+ then 16+.

Lucca – fresh Italian + the Mediterranean from light dishes to comfort food – open to all ages.

Cabrilla – Cabo is known for its fresh catches and this is where you come for gifts from the sea from ceviche to shellfish – open to all ages.

Azul – no average buffet fare found here – instead unique stations set up around the open space with dozens of dishes to try – open to all ages.

Aside from the upgraded culinary scene, the highlights of this property are the staff and the spa. Our clients rave about how warm + friendly the staff is, how they always greet guests with a smile, and how the hosts/concierges are super knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to arrange everything from dining reservations and childcare to spa appointments.

SPA // The SE Spa at Grand Velas Los Cabos blows everyone away. It is an incredible space. The spa lobby area is designed after a classic apothecary, complete with jars overflowing with local herbs that are incorporated into many of their treatments.

The 35,000 square feet space has the stamp of approval from Forbes Travel – Luxury Guide, and as soon as you change into your robe, you start to understand why. The hydrotherapy circuit leaves you wondering if you even need that massage after all – but trust us, you do. There is something for everyone on their long list of services + packages.

ROOMS // All of the 304 rooms at Grand Velas Los Cabos have stunning ocean views! And these rooms aren’t really rooms at all… they are all over 1100 square feet so let’s call them suites. Adults will notice all of the luxurious touches like Molton Brown bath products and premium stocked bar, and the kids can’t miss the pint-sized tee-pee set up just for them and they grow accustomed to the nightly delivery of milk + cookies.
