ISLAND
ST. THOMAS HOTELS
St. Thomas is not the largest of the US Virgin Islands, but it does receive more visitors than it’s sister islands of St. Croix and St. John. With a land area of only 32 square miles, the U.S. Virgin Island of St.Thomas this quintessential capital of America’s Caribbean is popular for watersports, golfing, eco-adventure and relaxing. Because of its easy access to the mainland United States, it is a convenient launch for boating adventures. Most yacht charters for the USVI, and even some that include the British Virgin Islands, depart from St. Thomas.
History buffs enjoy the notably well-kept historical sites such as Fort Christian and Blackbeard’s Castle. The island is a popular stop on cruise ship itineraries, but the local guides we partner with, know how to tour the most popular sites, and avoid the crowds. You’ll definitely want to hire a guide or rent a car to explore some of the island’s best beaches, such as Magens Bay, which are protected from hotel development. One main characteristic of life under Danish rule remains, while in the USVI you drive on the left-hand side of the road.
St. Thomas is an excellent choice for an island-hopping vacation with neighboring islands, something our travel advisors are skilled at arranging.
