ISLAND
BERMUDA
This may come as a surprise to some, but Bermuda is not part of the Caribbean. Bermuda is located in the Atlantic Ocean about 500 miles east of North Carolina. Her northerly location gives the island two distinct seasons… cooler and warmer. From the months of October to April, you’ll want to make sure your Bermuda hotel has a heated pool and hot tub as temps will likely hover around the 60s & 70s Fahrenheit. This means that the warmer months of May to September are also milder and more bearable than many Caribbean Islands.
One of the biggest draws to Bermuda is the world-class golf resorts; there are six courses in all. That’s a lot for such a tiny island! Even if golf is not your sport of choice, teeing off in Bermuda is totally worth it because of the jaw-dropping views. There’s plenty to do off the course as well, explore the underground Crystal Caves, tour a few of the art galleries in the capital city of Hamilton or stop in for a visit at the Bermuda Historical Society Museum.
Bermuda is home to famous pink sand beaches and infamous shipwrecks, so there is plenty to explore in and out of the water. The island’s historical sites are above average in terms of preservation and intrigue. Sightseeing makes for quite an adventure since only residents are allowed to drive cars on the island. The rest of us have to depend on renting bicycles or scooters or embarking on a private tour. All of this exploring is well worth it when you return home in the evening to your luxury hotel!
