Crow's nest at peter island
The largest private island in the BVI, Peter Island is
located four miles south of Tortola and 25-minutes - aboard the
resort's private launch - from its international airport, Beef
Island. 1,200 acres in area, it has a hilly topography laced with
hiking and biking trails, lush vegetation, and five swathes of
soft, white sand lined with coconut trees. Amid this natural beauty
sits a 52-room luxurious resort with every possible amenity and
comfort, including Tradewinds, an award-wining restaurant with
dramatic views. Its complementary sporting facilities range from
a fresh-water swimming pool to four tennis courts and a comprehensive
water-sports center. There are island excursions for exploring
and shopping. The Spa at Peter Island, overlooking Big Reef Bay,
provides extensive treatments and services by a professional staff.
Tailored for groups up to eight people, Crow's Nest evokes the
Santa Barbara coastal style of architecture, creating an easy
and intimate ambiance amid the extraordinary natural beauty that
surrounds the villa on all sides. Perched on a hill high above
the resort, it affords panoramic views of the sea and Virgin Islands
in all directions. Entering through its massive wooden doors,
you step into the airy living area, with its coffered-ceiling,
marble and wood surfaces, and overstuffed furnishings. The dramatic
dining area has Marge Carson-designed table and chairs. The four
bedroom-suites, each offering complete privacy, all have private
baths, with deep soaking tubs and showers, secluded verandahs,
and separate entrances.
There is a seamless connection between the lavishly appointed
interior and the expansive outdoor environments, with two pools
and terraces on both the north and south exposures. Meals are
included and may be enjoyed in the villa or at the resort's restaurants.
